Hotel pools are one of those great, under-utilized, promotional venues.
They have lots of space. They usually have a bar. And they inspire various stages of undress.
100 years ago we used a pool for a pre-cruise send-off party for a couple hundred listeners. It was great.
KSFM in Sacramental used the Doubletree's setup for their annual Secretarial Pool Party, which involved women skipping work, male strippers and inevitably a few hundred really hammered women.
The weekend before we started PartyRadio @ 104.3 in Phoenix, Rick Thomas and I were lurking and peeping the competition's events. They had a regular Sunday afternoon party at the Sheraton pool. It was jammed.
The pool bar at the Hard Rock in Vegas is called Rehab and on Sundays in the Summer, Chet Buchanen hosts Rehab Radio. I'm attaching a photo. 1000 or so people who are still hung over and recovering from the night(s) before.
You could also do Prehab and do a cheap Sunday buffet with Bloody Mary's at the hotel restaurant. Then move everything to the pool.
No reason you couldn't get multiple sponsors like beer or liqour brands, plus swimwear, suntanning lotion and, obviously, the hotel involved.
